History and Elegance Combined

The Glebe, built in 1745 by the Westover Parish, has been updated with every convenience while keeping its historic charm.  The elegant home provides your wedding with a touch of history and glamour. As a former parsonage, the house is situated amongst 110-acres of woods and farmland filled with picturesque sites to capture your special day. The interior of the 1745 manor features a beautiful open staircase, hardwood floors, fireplaces, and intimate celebration spaces as you prepare for your big day.

Most weddings prefer a seated ceremony in the front yard under the majestic trees with the historic home as the perfect backdrop.  For the larger reception, an elegant tent is provided in the rolling backyard with a 5,000 square foot brick paved patio that can comfortably host up to 300 guests. Additional spaces include an open air barn - perfect for rehearsals or smaller receptions up to 200 guests.  Conveniently located between Richmond and Williamsburg Virginia, your celebration can be filled with dinner, dancing, and celebrating with friends and family in this beautiful historic oasis.

The Historic Glebe House

The Glebe House of Westover Parish

The Glebe is registered in the Virginia Historic Landmarks and the National Register of Historic Places.  Originally built by Westover Church around 1745 and housed the early church and the ministers, The Glebe is no stranger to weddings.  According to historical records, couples wed at The Glebe etched their initials in the panes of glass.  There are still a few panes of happy couples dating back to 1888.  Due to the historical nature of the Glebe, we cannot continue it on site.  However, each couple will receive a pane of glass engraved with their names and wedding date to keep this tradition alive.

Your celebration,

your direction

We believe that each celebration should reflect the vision, the culture, the traditions of each couple, therefore we have very few rules and we allow you to hire the vendors that you choose--the day should not reflect our tastes and that of our vendor friends.

If you need assistance finding catering, florals, photography and any other vendor,

with more than 50 years of combined experience, we can offer a list of recommended vendors.
